The Apprentice

The striped sundress fluttered listlessly into the chair and didn’t move. As far as Mina knew, it wouldn’t ever move again. Kind of a pity.
The woman leering over her couldn’t have looked more delighted. “Excellent my dear!” She squealed. Her eyes were darting between Mina and the dress as if there were diamonds falling out of them. “I had a feeling that between the two of you, you would be the one to take my offer. I have so much to teach you…”
There she was monologuing again. Mina was hardly going to pay attention to that. Ever since the woman suddenly appeared in

Today I believe in witchcraft, maybe it’s the magic of the season, I don't know, but this morning I was a sceptic and now I'm a believer. To be fair, it would be hard to keep doubting given the damning evidence in front of me. I'd heard rumours that my new neighbours were a bit mystical. The mother certainly played up to the rumour. Her long black hair and emerald eyes certainly gave an air of enchantment when we first met. The black cat and long flowing sleeves also helped. Another excerpt from my entirely realistic Nano. Yes.
...okay, but this time, the framing device I went with for the first sort of made this a natural outgrowth, so that's something, right?
This one probably (definitely) needs the mature filter, although I actually toned it down a little bit from my initial plan.
Full disclosure: the basic germ of "woman invites man over to shrink him without warning and play with him" is lifted from a long since deleted comic called "Math Problems" by the now-inactive , but it's a broad enough idea, and I think my execution differs enough, that I decided to go ahead.
